Welcome to the Vision Board Challenge!

As part of our Summer Lunchtime Series we’re spending Mondays cultivating YOUR vision for YOUR life! Every Monday for the next four weeks we will creating a vision board that will help to guide the changes we want to make this summer!

Sounds great!  But what do I do?

I’m glad you asked!  Every Monday at 11:30 come to the website (if you “follow” the website you’ll get it by email!) or to the Facebook page and get the prompt.  Then carve out 30 sacred minutes during your day to take your dreams seriously. Each prompt will have step by step instructions and each will involve collecting images for your board either on your phone or via a web browser.  After four weeks of collecting images, you’ll be ready to make a vision board that will speak to your deepest dreams.

Week 1:  Your Ideal Day

Your Ideal Day

This week, I want you to imagine your ideal day.

Step 1: For the first 5-7 minutes, answer these questions in a notebook.

If you woke up in your ideal life…

  • What would your morning be like?  What kind of bed would you have? What would you eat?  Where would you have your coffee?
  • How would you spend your day?  What kind of work would you do? Who would you talk to?  What industry are you contributing to?
  • Who would you have meals with?  Who do you see at lunch? Who are you seeing at dinner? Where are you eating? What are you eating?
  • How would you end your day?  How would you unwind? Who would you see?

Step 2: After you spend a few minutes free writing on these prompts, pick one that captured your fancy and go looking for images on google image search.  For example, if you enjoyed thinking about how you would have coffee on your veranda, go looking for images of people having coffee on verandas.

Step 3: When you find an image, capture it (screen capture is explained here for an iPhone and here for a desktop).  Give yourself a few minutes on each idea  and then switch to another. Don’t judge the images that speak to you! The goal is to capture lots and lots of them… we’ll sort them out later.

Step 4. After about 20 minutes of capturing images, take a break.  With whatever time you have left, go back to you notebook and free write for a 2-3 minutes: What struck you? Did anything surprise you?  Did you remember anything significant?

Step 5: High five! You took your dreams seriously and you’re well on your way to making great change.
